Welcome!

We pride ourselves in excellent work. By that we do not say that we are super humans, but we are very experienced in the field of Physical Asset Management and Maintenance of Industrial Equipment. We thus in the past provided expert consulting support in the management and maintenance of assets. We now decided to replace consulting with expert coaching for Asset Management leaders to enable them to do the necessary improvement of their business themselves, without the cost and pains of external improvement drives. More detail of this is available on our 7 Assets Development Programme page. Apart from this, we provide top level training for your people, through our Terotechnica Asset Management College, and we perform publishing through Maintenance Publishers

History

AM-Tech was formed in 1987 as an engineering consulting firm specialising in maintenance and mechanical engineering consulting. Today the focus is solely on physical asset management.

In 1987 the present Managing Director, Dr Jasper L. Coetzee, and Dr Gideon Greyvenstein, then head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Potchefstroom University for Christian Higher Education, created the business M-Tech Consulting Engineers (Pty) Ltd.

After two years of building the organisation together, the two directors decided to part ways, with Dr Greyvenstein later creating M-Tech Industrial, a company operating in Potchefstroom, while Dr Jasper Coetzee retained sole proprietorship of M-Tech Consulting Engineers.

M-Tech's consultation was augmented by maintenance training in 1991. Today full blown Physical  Asset Management training is performed through the Terotechnica Asset Management College.

We recently, in line with Global trends, decided to change the name of the company to AM-Tech Consulting Engineers (Pty) Ltd. The reasoning behind this was that the "M" in M-Tech represented "Maintenance", while the Global trend is to rather recognise the more comprehensive "Asset Management", of which maintenance is a part. And thus the "M" was changed to "AM".

Our Mission

It is the mission of AM-Tech to play a key role in improving the level of physical asset management practice in Southern Africa specifically, and as far as is practical worldwide.

That is done firstly through being instrumental in formalising Asset Management theory. The second means is through imparting such knowledge to Asset Management practitioners, whilst the third is by assisting Asset Management organisations in achieving excellence through systematic organisation.
